Walking Safaris have always been a fascinating way to explore the African bush and to view animals on foot. Peregrine Tours are able to offer you this incredible experience within the Greater Kruger National Park. Apart from staying at a small private lodge in the middle of a private conscession, visitors will be able to enjoy daily guided walks in Big 5 territory as well as open vehicle safaris exploring huge areas that make up the Greater Kruger.
Tour Itinerary: Day 1- Johannesburg to Blyde River Canyon: Departing Johannesburg, we drive through the highlands and grasslands of the Mpumalanga Province and overnight at Blyde River Canyon. (Dx1: Blyde River Resort)
Day 2 and 4- Klaserie Private Nature Reserve: This morning we continue down the Drakensberg Escarpment and visit the region of the Panoramic Route. We visit the Bourke's Luck Potholes, God's Window, wonderful waterfalls before continuing to our lodge in the Klaserie Private Nature Reserve.
This natural area has been under family management and conservation since 1948 and now forms part of the Greater Kruger National Park. With no fences between the Kruger and Klaserie, animals are free to wonder into the reserve and often into our camp however rangers are always on stand-by for your safety.
During our days in the Klaserie, we will wake before sunrise and after a light breakfast, head out into the bush on foot in search of wildlife and many other interesting things that are impossible to notice from a vehicle. We return to camp at around midday for brunch before having a couple of hours to relax before our afternoon walk or open vehicle night drive. (Bx3, Brx3, Dx3: Ross Bush Camp)
Day 5- Klaserie Private Nature Reserve to Johannesburg: We wake once again before sunrise and after a light breakfast, depart on our final walk. We return to camp and after brunch, pack up and depart back to Johannesburg where the tour finishes at approximately 18h00. (B)
