Cullinan Diamond Mine is the site of the World’s oldest and South Africa’s third richest diamond mine. Premier mine opened in 1902 and together with it founded the pretty Victorian village of Cullinan. The “Cullinan Mine” as it was renamed after 100 years of operation produced the World’s largest gem quality diamond that was 3106-carats uncut! This diamond was chiselled into 98 diamonds including the Great and Lesser Stars of Africa, the 2nd and 3rd largest polished diamonds in the World, and now set in the British Crown Jewels.

Our tour of Cullinan take’s you to the small town where we see a short movie and presentation about the mine and it’s long history. We proceed into the high security premises where we are shown replica’s of some of the world’s most famous stones, the workings and machinery of a mine. We then visit the enormous open cast mine, excavated of its kimberlite, which is now four times larger than the famous “Big Hole” in Kimberley, South Africa. The tour ends at Cullinan Diamonds where one is invited to browse the loose diamonds and exquisite set jewellery and watch the priceless stone’s being cut and maybe your selected stone, set. This is the only place where one can invest in the Cullinan Star Cut™ diamond.
