Peregrine Tours specialise in guided day tours and safaris to the Pilanesberg National Park. The world renowned Pilanesberg supports all your general plains game such as zebra, impala, wildebeest (gnu) and giraffe as part of the 81 species of mammal  that occur in the park including the big five (Buffalo, Elephant, Leopard, Lion and Rhino). Situated just over 2 hours from Johannesburg in a malaria free area, the park covers about 50,000 hectares making it South Africa’s 5th largest game reserve. Over 350 species of birds, unique habitats and many rare wildlife such as Sable, African Wild Dog, Cheetah, Cape Clawless Otter and Black Rhino which also occur in the park. 

Pilanesberg is an ideal alternative to Kruger for travellers with less time or just wanting to get away from the traffic and crowds of Johannesburg. The park is situated in an ancient alkali ring volcano, one of only 7 in the world which is what makes Pilanesberg one of South Africa's most scenic game reserves. The beautiful hills and deep valleys provide ample habitat for all the species and as it is situated on the border of bushveld and dry Kalahari, Pilanesberg can provide sightings of the majestic oryx/ gemsbok , pronking springbok and shy brown hyena. Many rare and different rock minerals are also found in Pilanesberg volcano which was errupting over 1,5 billion years ago.

Full Day Pilanesberg Safari (Tour Code: 1DPB)

After being met by your guide at approximately 06h00, we will arrive at the extinct volcano just after 08h00. We enter the Park where our game drive begins. Driving slowly and spotting game, we see many animals, birds and amazing geology. After a few hours we stop to enjoy a buffet lunch or alternatively. After lunch, we carry on once again on another safari for a few hours before leaving the park at around 16h30 and arriving back in Johannesburg just after 19h00. (L)

Full Day Pilanesberg and Sun City Day Safari (Tour Code: 1DPBSC)

Itinerary as above but after lunch we visit Sun City and the Lost City before leaving at about 15h00. We stop on our way back to Johannesburg to visit a large craft market where many fantastic african crafts are on sale. Tour finishes at about 18h30.
